What to Say When a Friend Is Having a Rough Week

Bear put the jokes down for this one. It’s short.
When someone close to you is struggling, the urge is to fix it. Mostly they just need to know you noticed and you aren’t going anywhere.
Things that tend to help
- I’m here. You don’t have to talk.
- Do you want company or quiet?
- I’m bringing dinner. You don’t have to answer the door.
- Showing up again next week.
Things to skip
- Everybody gets moody sometimes.
- Have you tried yoga?
- But you were fine yesterday.
When it’s more than a rough week

This isn’t medical advice. A doctor or therapist who knows them is the right next step.
